November 2015 Favourites

Hi Everyone!

I haven't done a favourites post in a long time so I decided it'd be fun to do one today! I've tried a few new things over the last month, mainly lip products, so here are my stand out items!

Beauty Blender: I have owned my Beauty Blender for quite a while now but I've just recently gotten in to using it every time I apply my foundation! Nothing blends product into the skin like this little sponge!

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo: This is stuff is AMAZING! I have recommended it to so many people! It does an excellent job of clearing up your skin. I apply it once a day after cleansing my skin and before moisturiser.

Make up Geek Eyeshadows: These are a relatively new discovery for me and I love them! Especially Peach Smoothie, Crème Brule and Cocoa Bear. They are so pigmented and apply like a dream! I'm planning on doing a swatch post soon!

MAC Tan Pigment: This is my favourite MAC pigment and has been for a very long time now! Its a stunning rosy- tan colour and works wonderfully when paired with the three Make up Geek eyshadows above!

MAC Soar Lip Pencil & Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Cheat: I have really been loving a rosy-nude lip recently and these two lip pencils are the perfect accompaniment to lipsticks such as MAC's Whirl, Brave and Velvet Teddy.

L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara: This is a mascara that I've has several tubes of and I just keep coming back to it! It's quite simply brilliant!

Becca Skin Perfector in Moonstone & Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Powder in Fawn: We all love to highlight and contour our faces nowadays and these are the best two products on the market for that job in my opinion!

MAC Lipsticks in Brave & Mehr and Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Stoned Rose: As I previously mentioned I have been trying out some new lipsticks recently and these three are my pick of the crop!

OPI 'Just Lanai-ing Around Nail Polish: I've been all about rosy colours over the past couple of months so this colour suits me down to the ground! It's a gorgeous dark, creamy mauve shade that's so flattering to wear!

Tom Ford Velvet Orchid: This perfume is incredible and perfect for this time of year! It's quite a heavy fragrance but I love it! It's worth the heavy price tag in my opinion, if only for the staying power!

I hope that you enjoyed reading about my current favourite products. Please feel free to share some of your below!

August Favourites

Hi Everyone!
I can't believe that another month has passed by so quickly so it is time for my monthly favourites post! These are the products that I have used and loved a lot over the last month!
MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Ultra Darling: I love MAC's Sheen Supreme lipsticks and especially Ultra Darling which is a beautiful mid-tone pink colour that is so flattering and perfect for the daytime. The greatest advantage of these lipsticks is you get the ease of application of a lipstick plus the shine of a gloss without any stickiness! Click here to see a swatch if this lipstick.
NARS Orgasm
NARS Orgasm Blush: This is one of my favourite blushes of all time and I especially love to wear it during summer as it really complements a tan! It is a stunning peachy-pink colour with a golden shimmer. To see a swatch of the blush please click here.
Sigma Flare Palette: I purchased both the Flare and Bare eyeshadow palettes from Sigma a couple of months ago and whilst I love the neutral colours in the Bare palette, the more adventurous side of me adores the Flare palette! I love to create purple and teal eye looks using this palette and have found the shadows to be amazing quality that stay in place all day. I highly recommend this palette! To read my review of it please click here.
Sigma F25
Sigma F25 Tapered Face Brush: I have recently started to use the F25 brush to contour my cheekbones after watching a pixi2woo tutorial on YouTube. Previously I used a MAC 109 brush but I find that this brush does a much better job. It has a tapered point, as you can see in the picture above, so it has a precise application but does not lay down too much product at a time which allows you to build up your powder to your desired finish and avoids that awful dark line that you can sometimes create when contouring!
Beauty Blender: I am fairly new to the Beauty Blender craze but I love it! I find it applies my liquid foundation effortlessly and I haven't reached for a foundation brush since I purchased it. You can read my full review of the Beauty Blender by clicking here.

China Glaze, For Audrey

China Glaze Nail Polishes: China Glaze is a pretty new brand to me, I love nail polishes and always go for OPI and Essie but for a change I thought I'd give this brand a go and I am so impressed with their colour choice and longevity. My favourite colour so far has to be For Audrey which is a lovely Tiffany box blue (Click here for a swatch of this polish).

Superdrug Coconut and Shea Butter Body Polish

Superdrug Coconut and Shea Butter Body Polish: This has to be my star product of the month! I am a huge fan of the smell of coconut and use the Body Shop's Coconut Body Butter regularly and I used to also use their exfoliating body wash too but it is so expensive and I find that I get through it quite quickly. I found this body polish in Superdrug recently for the bargain price of £1.99 and I have to say that it is amazing! It smells delicious and leaves your skin feeling supper soft and smooth, I would definitely recommend giving this product a try!

Lola by Marc Jacobs Eau De Parfum Spray 3.4 oz for Women
Marc Jacobs, Lola

Marc Jacobs Lola Perfume: I recently picked up a sample of this fragrance from a department store and I am in love with it! It is so light and fresh, I have never tried a Marc Jacobs fragrance before and I am definitely going to purchase this ASAP!

So they are my favourite products for August, I hope that you enjoyed the post!

Beauty Blender Review

beautyblender - Ultimate Make Up Sponge Applicator
Hi Everyone!
I am sure that many of you have heard about the Beauty Blender Makeup Sponge. I have been contemplating buying one for quite some time now but paying £14.50 for a sponge always seemed a little crazy to me! I have tried the usual wedge shaped make up sponges that you can buy from drugstores over the years and never really like them all that much, mainly because I feel that they absorb most of the product! I usually apply my liquid foundation using a brush such as the Sigma F60 which can be a bit streaky especially if you are in a rush or by using my fingers which can be a little patchy. A few days ago I was browsing on  the Beauty Bay site ordering an OPI nail polish when I saw the Beauty Blender advertised and thought 'why not give it a go?'
My Beauty Blender arrived a couple of days ago and I am already in love with it! It is a hot pink, egg shaped sponge that is really soft and springy. When you are ready to use it place it in your hand under luke warm running water then gently squeeze it out in a towel, the sponge should be damp but not wet and will have grown to nearly double its original size. I have been using the sponge to apply my Makeup Forever HD Foundation, I pump the foundation onto the back of my hand then dip the bottom of the sponge into it. I hold the sponge at the tip end and apply the foundation by bouncing/ stippling the sponge against my face. This gives you an almost airbrushed effect which is amazing. I then use the pointed end of the sponge to apply the foundation to the sides of my nose and around my eyes. You can also use short downward strokes to complete the blending process if you wish. You can then use the blender to applying your under-eye concealer and setting powder if you desire. I also find that it applies cream blush really well too.
beautyblender Blender Cleanser 3 oz (90 ml)
In order to clean your sponge it is recommended that you use the Blender Cleanser which you get a small sample of when you buy or sponge and is also sold separately. To clean it you simply pour some of the cleanser onto the damp sponge and work it into a lather with you fingers then rinse under the tap using luke warm water, then gently dry in a towel and leave to air dry fully.
Overall, I am truly amazed at how well the Beauty Blender both applies and blends out your foundation with very little effort involved at all, I can't imagine that I will return to using a brush or my fingers any time soon. Other brands, such as Sonya Kashuk, have brought out similar make up sponges but from the reviews that I have read online, they do not seem to perform as well. The biggest downside to the product is obviously it's price, I personally feel that it is worth it as it is roughly the same price as any high-end foundation brush.
I purchased my Beauty Blender from Beauty Bay for £14.50. You can also purchase it from Amazon here:  beautyblender - Ultimate Make Up Sponge Applicator. The Blender Cleanser can also be purchased from Beauty Bay for £13.50 and from Amazon here: beautyblender Blender Cleanser 3 oz (90 ml)
5 stars out of 5 from me!
