Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronze Universel Review & Swatch

Hi everyone!

Today I would like to share my new favourite bronzer with you, Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronze Universel (bit of a mouthful)!

This product has a lot of hype in the beauty community and quite rightly so in my opinion! It is a cream to powder bronzer and has the most beautiful, easy to blend formula with a natural finish.

It comes in a simple, round pot with a screw top lid.

It's a pricey product, as you would expect from Chanel, but it is luxurious and you do get a decent amount of product (1oz).

I like to apply it after foundation using my Sigma Kabuki brush (pictured below). I swirl my brush directly into the product, tap of some excess on the back of my hand and apply to the face, buffing it into the skin. I have fairly pale skin (MAC NW20) and it looks great.

Swatch: MAC NW20 skin (for reference).

Overall this is a great product, it provides you with easy application and a natural finish with no orange colour or glitter! It simply warms up your complexion. I have been a huge fan of the NARS Laguna bronzer and this has replaced that for me!

You can currently purchase it from Debenhams  for £28.80

Chanel Fauve Eyeshadow - Review & Swatch

Hi Everyone!
I decided to treat myself to a luxury eyeshadow this week and went for Chanel's Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Fauve which was recommended by Tiffany D in one of her recent YouTube videos. Fauve is a beautiful taupe colour with a hint of purple and some beautiful shimmer. I have brown eyes and this looks beautiful.

As you would expect with a Chanel eyeshadow it is really good quality. The powder has a silky smooth texture and applies really nicely and evenly. The shadow is beautifully pigmented and looks exactly the same colour on you eye as it does in the pot. The colour is pretty unique, it is similar to MAC's Satin Taupe but is slightly more purple and contains more shimmer. I have used it a couple of times as an all over lid colour and found no problems with creasing or fading.

Swatch shown on NW20 skin:

To conclude, this is a truly stunning product. Is it worth the high price tag? Well no probably not! It is really good quality but £21 is a lot of money to pay for one eyeshadow, saying that, I love the colour so I don't regret buying it and I don't think you would either! Sometimes it's nice to splash out and treat yourself and this is an ideal product to do that with!

I hope that you have enjoyed this post, please feel free to recommend any other Chanel products is the comments section below.
I purchased my eyeshadow from House of Fraser for £21

Chanel Peridot Nail Polish - Review & Swatch

Hi Everyone!
Today I applied Chanel Peridot nail polish to my nails which is one of the 3 limited edition polishes from the Fall 2011 Collection, Illusions d'Ombres de Chanel. This polish already seems to have built up quite a following and has already sold out on many UK websites but I managed to pick it from House of Fraser store in Manchester city centre last week. Peridot is a really unusual colour, I would describe it as gold and olive green duo chrome. I took another couple of photos of the bottle for you so that you can appreciate how the colour changes depending on how the light hits it.

Firstly I applied 2 coats of OPI Original Nail Envy as my base followed by 2 coats of Peridot. The lacquer is really easy and smooth to apply and the consistency is perfect, not too runny and not too thick but it does streak quite easily so you have to take your time to avoid that. The polish is fully opaque after 1 coat which I love, but as always I applied 2. I then finished by applying 1 coat of Seche Vite Fast Drying Top Coat.

As you can see this polish looks amazing and is so unusual and eye catching. The colour alters from a gorgeous gold to a rich olive colour depending on how the light is hitting it. The polish has a stunning metallic finish which is right on trend for Fall/ Autumn 2011. This polish is really, really expensive so I would say that you definitely need to be in love with the colour to warrant paying such a high price, but if you love Chanel polishes then go for it as a treat! Why not? However, I have a feeling that if this polish sells well and quickly, which it seems to be, other, more affordable brands will soon bring out more purse friendly alternatives!
I purchased my bottle from House of Fraser for £17.50.

Top 10 Lipglosses

Hi Everyone!
I love to compile top 10 lists for you and here is my list of favourite lipglosses. As many of you know I am a massive fan of MAC Cosmetics so most of my list of glosses are from MAC! Here are the descriptions of the glosses followed by swatches.

10. MAC Lipgloss in C-thru
C-thru is a classic, subtle lipgloss that perks up any lipstick. It is described as a peachy-beige colour with shimmer and it a gloss that I repurchase over and over again! You can get it from MAC  for £12.50 or from Amazon here: MAC Lip Gloss Lipglass C-Thru

9. NARS Lipgloss in Orgasm
I love the NARS Orgasm range and especially the gloss. It is a gorgeous peachy-pink with a golden shimmer. I love to wear it with the blush on my cheeks. If you love the blush then give the gloss a go! It is quite expensive (£17.50 in the UK) but I feel it is worth it for this iconic colour. You can get it from NARS or from Amazon here: NARS Orgasm Lip Gloss

8. OCC Lip Tar in Momento
OCC Lip Tar's are amazing. They are packaged as a gloss but have the longevity and coverage of a lipstick. They can be mixed together to create unique shades or worn alone. A little goes a very long way with these so I would advise applying them using your finger or a brush rather than straight from the tube and they also have a minty scent. Momento is a nude-rosy pink shade. I purchase mine from Cocktail Cosmetics for £8.95.

7. MAC Lipgloss in Strange Potion
This was a limited edition gloss from MAC's Venomous Villains collection last year and is a pretty unique colour. It is a gorgeous shimmery pink-coral colour with semi opaque coverage that I love to wear on it's own. Look out for it in CCO stores or in upcoming collections as a re promote.

6. MAC Lustreglass in Love Nectar
Love nectar is a stunning apricot gloss which I think looks great with a bronze smokey eye for summer. This is the only Lustregloss that I own and I love it! You can buy it from MAC for £12.50.

5. Chanel Lipgloss (Levres Scintillantes) in 19 Blizzard
I first purchased this lipgloss during a holiday in Southern France and have repurchased it several times, partly because of the memories of my holiday attached to it and also because I love the colour and finish of the gloss. It is a rosy-pink colour with golden shimmer and looks great when worn alone. This gloss is very expensive but is great quality and a good way to treat yourself! You can purchase it from Debenhams for £20 or from Amazon here: Levres Scintillantes - No. 19 Blizzard - Chanel - Lip Color - Levres Scintillantes - 6ml/0.2oz

4. MAC Lipgloss in Underage
Underage is a soft pink lipgloss that has a subtle shimmer. This gloss looks great worn alone or over a pink lipstick such as MAC's Angel or Creme Cup. I also love to put it over nude lipsticks such as Myth. You can purchase it from MAC for £12.50.

3. NARS Lipgloss in Turkish Delight
NARS describe this gloss as a 'Pink Sorbet'. It is a girlie, bubblegum pink that looks great on it's own but I also love to put it over MAC's Angel or Creme Cup lipsticks. This is also one of Kim Kardashian's favourite/ most worn lipglosses. You can purchase it from NARS for £17.50 or from Amazon here: NARS Lip Gloss, Turkish Delight .28 oz (8 g).

2. MAC Dazzleglass in Date Night
Surprisingly this is the only Dazzleglass to make my top 10 list but Date Night certainly deserves its place at number 2. Dazzleglasses are amazing lipglosses, they are ultra sparkly but don't have any chunky glitter that can be uncomfortable to wear. Date Night is a stunning 'Soft blue purple with pearl'. I love to wear it over MAC's Plumful Lipstick on a night out. You can purchase it from MAC for £16 or from Amazon: MAC Dazzleglass - Date Night. (Dazzleglasses are slightly more expensive than MAC's regular glosses but they are larger).

1. NYX Megashine Lipgloss in Sweetheart
The fact that my favourite lipgloss is not from MAC may come as a surprise to those of you who regularly read my blog (it surprised me a little if I'm honest!) but I have really fallen in love with this gloss! It is the only gloss that I currently own from NYX and I will definitely be repurchasing it. I was prompted to buy it when watching my favourite YouTube beauty guru ( Elle Fowler/ allthatglitters21 ) who used it during a Lauren Conrad inspired makeup tutorial. It is a beautiful nude-pink colour that is super shiny but not too gloopy. It also smells really nice too! You can get it from NYX for £6.95 or from Amazon here: NYX Goddess of the Night Lip Gloss with Mega Shine, Sweetheart, 104

Here are the swatches shown on NW20 skin:
(L to R) C Thru, Underage, Turkish Delight, Love Nectar, Sweetheart

(L to R) Strange Potion, Orgasm, Blizzard, Momento, Date Night

So they are my top 10 lipglosses! Please feel free to share yours below!

My Favourite/ Most Worn Jewellery

Hi Everyone!
I thought that it would be fun to share my favourite and most worn items of jewellery with you. I love to read about other people's favourite jewellery on their blogs so I hope that you enjoy this!

(L to R) Gucci Watch, Toywatch
Toywatch Amethyst Fluo Watch: I wear my Toywatch so much! It fits me so well and I love how it looks! I'd buy about 10 more in lots of different colours if I could!
Gucci Watch: This watch was a gift for my 18th birthday, I think it is so feminine and it means so much to me.

(L to R) Forever 21 Earrings, Chanel Earrings, M & S Earrings

Chanel Earrings: I don't know where to start with these earrings! I wanted them sooooo much! I saved up for them and finally bought them around 2 years ago, I think they were around £160. I don't wear them all that much because I'm so scared of them falling out! I just need the Chanel 2.55 bag to match now!
Silver Hoops: I love any kind of hoop earring. I purchased these from Marks & Spencer around a year and a half ago and they look great and are really light-weight.
Forever 21 Hoops: These are my favourite earring to wear on a night out, they are so sparkly! They were the first item that I purchased from Forever 21 and I'm totally hooked now thanks to these earrings!

Thomas Sabo Bracelet: I really love this bracelet and I have a post dedicated to it so click here to check it out!

(L to R) 'M' Necklace, Black Crystal Bangle

Sparkling Black Crystal Bangle: I purchased this bangle from What's About Town it is supper sparkly and eye catching. I love to wear it on nights out! I've heard that Cheryl Cole really likes these bracelets too. They are available in lots of different colours.
M Necklace: This is a really old pendant from Mikey Jewellery that I have had forever and I have had to have stones put back in it when they have fallen out. I think it's on it's third chain now but I love it so much! I like initial pendants a lot but I have never found an M that I like as much as this one!

(L to R) Amethyst Ring, Flower Ring, Gold & Diamond Ring

Gold & Diamond Ring: This ring was a gift from my family for my 21st birthday. I tend to wear it on special occasions!
Amethyst Silver Ring: This ring was from a shop in Liverpool and unfortunately isn't real! I would love to have a real version of it one day!
Flower Ring: This was a cheap cocktail ring from Dorothy Perkins last year. I always wear it on my middle finger and I really like how much it sparkles, it always gets lots of comments!

Layered Chain Necklace: This is my favourite long necklace and I really love how the 3 chains hang. I also think that the circles make it a bit unusual. It was from Forever 21 a couple of months ago.

So they are my favourite items of jewellery that I wear the most! As you can see, I love a mixture of high-end and more affordable pieces. I would really love another Toywatch and a Tiffany & Co Necklace to add to my collection (I'd better start saving or begging!)
See you soon!

Chanel Paradoxal - Review & Swatch

Chanel Le Vernis Paradoxal 509 LIMITED EDITION FALL 2010

Hi Everyone!
This week's nails of the week is Paradoxal by Chanel. I fancied a change from my usual bright summer polishes so I thought that I would give this cult polish a try. This is such a unique colour that has to be seen in real life to truly be appreciated. The application was smooth and easy and the brush is much thinner than an OPI brush, quite similar to an Essie brush, which, I find, makes it much easier to apply. The polish was totally opaque after 2 coats.

I would describe the polish as highly pigmented grey/ taupe/ violet which sounds a little crazy but it is so unique, sophisticated and beautiful. Indoors you mainly see the taupe/ grey colour but outside you can really pick up the violet sparkle.
As this polish is by Chanel it is very expensive (£17.50 in the UK). I think it is worth splashing out on as it is such an unusual colour, I have researched and no other brand has made a close dupe as yet.
You can get it from Amazon here:Chanel Le Vernis Paradoxal 509 LIMITED EDITION FALL 2010
I will give this 4 and a half stars out of 5.

P.S.Apologies once again for the sloppy painting, I was in a rush!

My Birthday Presents!

Hi Everyone!
I am sure that anyone who has read my blog will know that it was my birthday recently and I thought that it would be fun to share my beauty-related gifts with you all!

Vera Wang Preppy Princess Perfume: I am a huge fan of the original Vera Wang Princess Perfume and I have wanted to try this one as soon as it came out! The bottle is so gorgeous and looks great next to my original bottle on my dressing table. I looked into what scents are included in the perfume and found that it contains tangerine, apple, red berries, honeysuckle, jasmine and coconut water, I am not too good at identifying individual scents but I can definately pick up the red berries. I think it smells amazing and is, in my opinion, lighter and fruitier than the original perfume. I love it!
Chanel Nail Lacquer in Paradoxal: I am sure that a lot of you have heard of and probably purchased this cult Chanel polish! I have seen pictures of it online but I didn't realise how beautiful and unique it was until I saw it in the bottle. It is a greyish-plum colour with purple and red reflects. I have never seen a colour like it before!
MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow Duos: I received 2 of the new MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow Duo's from my best friend in Thunder & Rain and This & That. They both look amazing and I am thrilled with them. I will write a post shortly reviewing them both.
Nails Inc Nail Wraps: I tried some of the Trendy Nail Wraps a couple of days ago and loved them so much that I picked up a couple more from Nails Inc using my birthday money. The Nails Inc technician that served me told me that the same company that makes the nail wraps for Trendy also makes the Nails Inc ones which explains why they look so similar! I love using these wraps for special nights out and they get a lot of comments when you have them on! I chose Pink Cheetah and Leopard Print Purple.
ASP Complete Nail Art Kit: This was a gift from one of my friends and it is so me! I can't wait to play with it. It contains glitters and all sorts of nail gems such as flowers, tear drops and stars in really pretty colours.
Thomas Sabo Gummy Bear Charm: OK so this technically isn't beauty related but I really wanted to add it. This charm is for my Thomas Sabo bracelet that I absolutely love. I recently wrote a post about the bracelet so check it out!

Didn't I do well? Ha ha well I think so anyway! I am so pleased with all of my birthday presents! I wish I had a birthday more often, although I don't like getting older very much!
I hope that you have enjoyed sharing my birthday with me!
