November 2015 Favourites

Hi Everyone!

I haven't done a favourites post in a long time so I decided it'd be fun to do one today! I've tried a few new things over the last month, mainly lip products, so here are my stand out items!

Beauty Blender: I have owned my Beauty Blender for quite a while now but I've just recently gotten in to using it every time I apply my foundation! Nothing blends product into the skin like this little sponge!

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo: This is stuff is AMAZING! I have recommended it to so many people! It does an excellent job of clearing up your skin. I apply it once a day after cleansing my skin and before moisturiser.

Make up Geek Eyeshadows: These are a relatively new discovery for me and I love them! Especially Peach Smoothie, Crème Brule and Cocoa Bear. They are so pigmented and apply like a dream! I'm planning on doing a swatch post soon!

MAC Tan Pigment: This is my favourite MAC pigment and has been for a very long time now! Its a stunning rosy- tan colour and works wonderfully when paired with the three Make up Geek eyshadows above!

MAC Soar Lip Pencil & Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Cheat: I have really been loving a rosy-nude lip recently and these two lip pencils are the perfect accompaniment to lipsticks such as MAC's Whirl, Brave and Velvet Teddy.

L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara: This is a mascara that I've has several tubes of and I just keep coming back to it! It's quite simply brilliant!

Becca Skin Perfector in Moonstone & Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Powder in Fawn: We all love to highlight and contour our faces nowadays and these are the best two products on the market for that job in my opinion!

MAC Lipsticks in Brave & Mehr and Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Stoned Rose: As I previously mentioned I have been trying out some new lipsticks recently and these three are my pick of the crop!

OPI 'Just Lanai-ing Around Nail Polish: I've been all about rosy colours over the past couple of months so this colour suits me down to the ground! It's a gorgeous dark, creamy mauve shade that's so flattering to wear!

Tom Ford Velvet Orchid: This perfume is incredible and perfect for this time of year! It's quite a heavy fragrance but I love it! It's worth the heavy price tag in my opinion, if only for the staying power!

I hope that you enjoyed reading about my current favourite products. Please feel free to share some of your below!

Charlotte Tilbury Golden Goddess Lip Kit - Review & Swatches

Hi everyone!

I love Charlotte Tilbury! The products, the packaging, the lady herself, maybe not the price, but you get my drift! I have a few of her eye palettes but I decided I wanted to give one of the lipsticks a go! I'd had my eye on Stoned Rose for a while now and got suckered in to buying the 'Golden Goddess' Lip Kit by the lovely artist at the Trafford Centre! All three products are available to purchase separately, however Charlotte herself recommends that the three are worn together! Who am I to argue with that?!

The kit contains the following:

Stoned Rose Lipstick: A warm, nude rose colour. This lipstick is beautiful. It applied smoothly and evenly and has a slightly glossy finish. The colour is really flattering and would suit a range of skin tones. The packaging is stunning too! The lipstick costs £23 when purchased alone.

Pillow Talk Lip Cheat Lip Pencil: This is a pinky-nude lip liner and I love it! It is close to the natural lip colour so would suit a lot of different lipsticks. It applies smoothly and evenly and isn't too drying. The pencil is priced at £16.

Ibiza Nights Lip Lustre: This is a sheer, sparkly champagne colour. I'm not a massive fan of lip gloss if I'm honest but this is really nice! It's a pretty universal shade and would look nice paired with a wide range of lipsticks. Its priced at £16.50 which is expensive!

(L to R) Pillow Talk, Stoned Rose, Ibiza Nights, Ibiza Nights over Stoned Rose
(Swatched on MAC NW20 skin for reference).

This set is gorgeous and there is no doubt that the three products work beautifully together. However, I would probably give the lip gloss a miss, it is nice but there are other glosses on the market which are more affordable and would give a similar effect! The lip pencil and lipstick do get a big thumbs up from me though!

You can purchase this set for £49 and the each of the products individually from Charlotte Tilbury

NARS A Woman's Face Neutral Lip Set

Hi everyone!

So it's that time of year again where all of our favourite beauty brands bring out gift sets for the holiday season. This year NARS have teamed up with photographer Steven Klein to offer a range of great sets!

This set is called 'A Woman's Face' and is one of two lip sets available. This one contains neutral shades and includes Dolce Vita Lipstick, Dolce Vita Matte Lip Pencil and Patong Beach Velvet Lip Liner.

Dolce Vita Lipstick

Dolce Vita lipstick is a cult product from NARS and is a 'warm rose shade'. The colour pay off is quite sheer but can be amped up by applying the lip pencil first for a stronger look.

(L to R) Patong Beach Pencil and Dolce Vita Velvet Matte Lip Pencil

Both the Lip Liner Pencil and the Velvet Matte Pencil apply smoothly and evenly and both have excellent staying power thanks to their matte finish. The Matte Lip Pencil is also fantastic is you love the Dolce Vita colour but would like more colour pay off than you get with the original lipstick alone.

(L to R) Patong Beach Lip Pencil, Dolce Vita Matte Lip Pencil, Dolce Vita Lipstick
(Shown on MAC NW20 skin, for reference).

Overall, I really like this set. You get a good amount of product for your money (remember this is NARS!) and its a great way to try out the product ranges included, I also think that this set will appeal to a lot of people and look great on a large range of skin tones.

You can purchase this set from NARS here for £29

Nails Inc Lilly Road - Review & Swatch

Hi Everyone!

Nails Inc have recently come out with a new limited range of polishes called 'The New White'. Now I love an off -white shade so I rushed to get my hands on one, or maybe two, ok it was three!

Two coats of Lily Road and one coat of Seche Vite Top Coat

This was is called Lily Road and is described as a 'Clean baby pink'.

The brush is wide which makes application easy. The polish was fully opaque and lasted well. The polishes are expensive but they are good quality and I love the new square Nails Inc packaging much more than their old style!

You can purchase this polish from Nails Inc for £14

Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow - Review & Swatches

Hi everyone!

So I have to confess, despite being a major make-up addict Bobbi Brown is a brand that I just haven't used much off. I've used the concealer and corrector, as most of us have, but after watching many Jaclyn Hill videos I thought that I'd give the eyeshadows a go!

So I purchased one of the four pan palettes which cost £6. They are a decent quality and have a great, large mirror on the inside of the side and a snap-shut closure. You simply pop the individual shadows out of their casing and into the palette.

I selected my eyeshadows, again based on what I've seen Jaclyn use (major fan of her)!

ROSE GOLD: Golden pink
CHAMPAGNE QUARTZ: Champagne pink
CAMEL: Medium caramel.
TOAST: Toasted peach.

Swatch on MAC NW20 skin (for reference).

Overall I have to say that the shadows are excellent quality. All four apply and blend well. Rose Gold and Champagne Quartz make excellent all-over-the-lid shades, Toast is a great transition shade and Camel is perfect for in the outer crease and for definition.

Would I purchase Bobbi Brown shadows again? Yes I probably would but I don't think that they are quite as good as MAC or Makeup Geek which are more affordable.

You can purchase the shadows from Bobbi Brown for £17.50 each.

Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronze Universel Review & Swatch

Hi everyone!

Today I would like to share my new favourite bronzer with you, Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronze Universel (bit of a mouthful)!

This product has a lot of hype in the beauty community and quite rightly so in my opinion! It is a cream to powder bronzer and has the most beautiful, easy to blend formula with a natural finish.

It comes in a simple, round pot with a screw top lid.

It's a pricey product, as you would expect from Chanel, but it is luxurious and you do get a decent amount of product (1oz).

I like to apply it after foundation using my Sigma Kabuki brush (pictured below). I swirl my brush directly into the product, tap of some excess on the back of my hand and apply to the face, buffing it into the skin. I have fairly pale skin (MAC NW20) and it looks great.

Swatch: MAC NW20 skin (for reference).

Overall this is a great product, it provides you with easy application and a natural finish with no orange colour or glitter! It simply warms up your complexion. I have been a huge fan of the NARS Laguna bronzer and this has replaced that for me!

You can currently purchase it from Debenhams  for £28.80
