Inglot Neutral/ Browns & Golds Freedom Eyeshadow Palette - Review & Swatches

Hi Everyone!

Regular readers of my blog will, no doubt, be fully aware of my Inglot obsession by now! Today I would like to share my 20 pan Neutral Freedom eyeshadow palette with you all. I originally purchased 10 neutral shades but loved the range so much that I order a 20 pan palette plus another 10 colours, so if you have read my previous Inglot neutral palette post you will have already seen 10 of these shades!

For those of you who are not familiar with Inglot, it is a great cosmetic brand that offer amazing quality products at really reasonable prices. The freedom system allows you to create your own eyeshadow, blush, lip colour and concealer palettes with products of your choice.

OPI Black Cherry Chutney - Review & Swatch

As the colder weather sets in I like to use darker polishes on my nails, which I think look great on shorter nails and as I am having to keep my nails fairly short at the moment because of college :-( I dark shade is ideal! I very nearly reached for my beloved Lincoln Park After Park in my collection when I came across OPI's Black Cherry Chutney from their 2008 India Collection and remembered how beautiful it is. As it's name suggests, it is a blackened berry colour with a very subtle shimmer.

I began by applying my usual Seche Base coat followed by 2 coats of Black Cherry Chutney. The application is a little streaky but no too bad. I found that it was pretty much opaque after the 2 coats but one more may look better if you really like that solid colour look. I then finished off with a coat of Seche Vite Fast Drying Top Coat to add a little shine.

Overall, Black Cherry Chutney is a beautiful colour for Fall/ Winter or for a night out and I think that it is easily overlooked due to the popularity of some of OPI's other dark shades such as Mrs O'Leary's BBQ and the wonderful Lincoln Park After Dark. It is also a much more flattering alternative to black.

Yankee Candles

Hi Everyone!

I have always loved to have scented candles in my bedroom and around the house as I love the warm atmosphere and gorgeous scents that they fill your house with. I have obviously heard of Yankee Candles as they are probably the most famous candle brand here in the UK but due to their rather high price tag I have resisted buying them! Well I appear to have reached the stage where I can resist no more so I order 2 of their small jars to see what they are like! Here are the names of the candles that I chose with their descriptions:

Christmas Cookie: "Buttery rich, vanilla scented, holiday cookies."

Strawberry Buttercream: "Plump, sweet strawberries buried in rich whipped cream."

Despite the fairly small size (3.7oz) I think that these candles will last quite a while. The Strawberry Buttercream is gorgeous and you can definitely pick up the sweet scent of the strawberry's but it isn't too sickly or overpowering due to the contrasting scent of the buttercream. The Christmas Cookie is definitely my favourite of the two fragrances, it has the most gorgeous rich, creamy vanilla smell that I would never get sick off, I think this one may need repurchasing in a bigger size!

I really like these candles and you can certainly tell that they are good quality, the candles smell exactly how they are described by the company which I have found is not always the case with some cheaper candles that I have previously purchased. The entire Yankee candle range looks great and I would really like to try out a few more from the range including Christmas Cupcake, Creamy Caramel and Vanilla Cupcake. Please let me know if you have tried any of these and if you would recommend them!

I purchased my candles from Yankee Direct. The Christmas Cookie candle was £5.99 and the Strawberry Buttercream Candle was £7.49.

Lush Gingerbread House Bubble Bar - Review

Hi Everyone!

I popped into my local Lush store a couple of days ago to pick up a couple of things. My favorite Lush product has to be their bubble bars, for those of you who have not yet tried one, they are a solid bar that you crumble under running water in your bath and they dissolve to fill your bath with gorgeous bubbles and also colour your water, They are lots to chose from and I usually go for the Creamy Candy Bar or the Comforter bar, which are both quite fruity smelling, but I decided I wanted to try something a little different and as they have now launched their Christmas 2011 collection I picked up something from that!

As soon as I saw their Gingerbread House I knew I had to have it! It is so cute and even has a cinnamon chimney! The bar contains 'ginger powder and ginger essential oil' and 'lemon oil and blackcurrant notes of Buchu oil.' The bar is quite large and I cut mine into two pieces. The bar crumbles really easily under the water and dissolves completely, it turns the water a lovely, burnt orange colour and creates lots of lovely fluffy, white bubbles. You can most definitely pick up the ginger and spice scent but it isn't too over powering. The bar has a really warming effect on your body and leaves your skin silky smooth. This is the perfect treat for winter time and I will definitely be repurchasing.

All of the products from their Christmas line look great and I really want to try the Snowcake soap, Lil Lush Pud Ballistic and the Snow Fairy shower gel.

Kiehl's Ultimate Stength Hand Salve - Review

Hi Everyone!

I thought that I would put a quick blog post together for you about my favourite hand cream now that the colder weather is unfortunately approaching! I get very dry hands as I suffer a little from eczema and I also have a horse which means that I am outdoors in some seriously harsh weather in the depths of winter so I need a really good handcream! I really like my Vaseline Hand Cream as an every day cream but I like to use a more heavy duty moisturiser once or twice a week and I have found that Kiehl's Hand Salve is incredible! I apply a generous amount of it onto my hands before I go to bed and then wear manicure gloves over night. This gives your hands a really deep moisturising over night and you wake up with super soft skin!

Kiehl's claim that this hand salve provides you with a 'glove-like' protection barrier against moisture loss, the salve is really thick and really coats your skin which is why I wouldn't really recommend applying it in a morning as you won't be able to grip anything! Also I feel that it is better suited to being a once or twice a week treat due to the high price, but don't be put off by that as I think that it is worth it and the best luxury hand cream on the market and I have tried quite a few! It contains Avocado oil, Vitamin A, D, E, Potassium and Sesame Oil  and has a really interesting and unique smell.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who needs a heavy duty hand cream for the winter. The hand salve is priced at £14 for a 75ml tube and £19 for a 150ml tube.
