Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette

Today I have a review for you! This is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette which contains 16 shadows in a mixture of matte and shimmer finishes. The packaging is in the form of a metal box with a magnetic snap-shut closure. Inside there is also a decent sized mirror. Two of the shadows (White Chocolate and Champagne Truffle) are larger in size than the other colours which is quite common with Too Faced palettes. To keep with the theme of a chocolate bar, the palette has a chocolate scent to it which is quite strong but disappears when the shadows are applied to the eyes.

First of all, how amazing are the names? They are brilliant! I think that this is such a great theme for a palette and rather unique! The shadows themselves are the stars of the show in my opinion! They are incredible and there isn't one bad shade in there. The range of colours is amazing for a 'neutral palette'. I really can not say enough good things about it!

White Chocolate and Champagne Truffle make excellent highlighting colours. Salted Caramel and Milk Chocolate are fantastic transition colours for the crease and you have wonderful dark, outer corner colours such as Semi-Sweet and Gilded Ganache. My favourite all-over lid colour is Marzipan which is a little similar to Urban Decay's Sin which is one of my all time favourite shadows. You can also liken Crème Brule to UD's Half Baked. Colours such as Strawberry Bon Bon and Candied Violet are also fantastic additions to the palette and give you much greater versatility than the UD Naked One Palette for example. All of the shadows apply and blend really well with little or no fall-out. The matte shades have a nice creamy texture and the shimmer shadows have no chunky glitter making them much easier to work with.

The palette retails for £45 here in the UK, however, Beauty Bay currently has it for £40.05 with free delivery. So the palette is, on average around £8 more expensive than the Urban Decay Naked One palette, which would I choose? Most definitely the Too Faced palette! Don't get me wrong, I love the Naked One but I think that the Chocolate Bar palette has the better range of colours and slightly better pigmentation. You also get 4 more shadows than in the Naked palettes.
